Historical Gasoline Station
TERRA Environmental served as Senior Project Manager and Licensed Site Professional (LSP) for remediation of a historical gasoline station in Somerville with five release tracking numbers (RTNs) under MassDEP regulations and previous involvement by five Licensed Site Professionals prior to TERRA's engagement. Environmental activities encompassed comprehensive site assessment and remediation including gasoline station removal, contaminated soil excavation, and non-aqueous phase liquid recovery operations. Remedial approach included extensive assessment activities followed by Method 1/2 Risk Characterization supported by EPA's BIOSCREEN modeling software, demonstrating achievement of no significant risk levels for site closure. Project resulted in successful regulatory closure and site delisting after 29 years on the MassDEP list since 1992, making the property available for redevelopment in 2021.
Complex historical gasoline station remediation with five RTNs and multi-LSP coordination: Comprehensive site management addressing five release tracking numbers with coordination of previous work by five Licensed Site Professionals over 29-year remediation timeline
Advanced risk assessment with Method 1/2 Risk Characterization and EPA BIOSCREEN modeling: Sophisticated risk evaluation utilizing EPA's BIOSCREEN modeling software to demonstrate no significant risk achievement for regulatory closure
Comprehensive petroleum remediation with soil excavation and LNAPL recovery operations: Complete gasoline station removal including contaminated soil excavation and non-aqueous phase liquid recovery addressing multiple petroleum release areas
Long-term regulatory closure achievement with 29-year MassDEP site delisting success: Successful site closure and delisting from MassDEP registry after nearly three decades, enabling property redevelopment opportunities
