Overview
TERRA delivers comprehensive soil remediation services from initial contamination assessment through final disposition. Our environmental technicians utilize advanced treatment technologies and disposal methods to address soil contamination effectively while meeting all regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
Initial Assessment and Planning
Site Characterization: Perform soil borings and collect samples to identify contaminants (e.g., petroleum hydrocarbons, metals). Map contamination extent using geotechnical data.
Regulatory Framework: Review MCP and local regulations for soil handling, disposal, and reuse requirements. Determine if a Release Abatement Measure (RAM) is needed.
Soil Management Plan: Develop a plan specifying excavation volumes, stockpile management, and disposal or treatment options (e.g., off-site disposal, thermal desorption).

Remediation Process
Excavation and Handling: Use excavators to remove contaminated soil, segregating clean and impacted material. Implement dust and erosion control measures.
Treatment or Disposal: Treat soil on-site (e.g., bioremediation) or transport to a licensed facility for disposal. Track all shipments with Bills of Lading per MCP requirements.
Verification Sampling: Collect post-excavation samples from sidewalls and base of excavation to confirm contaminant removal below MCP standards.
LSP Signoff and Documentation
Closure Report: Compile a RAM Completion Report or Permanent Solution Statement, including analytical data, disposal records, and site maps.
LSP Signoff: The LSP reviews verification sampling results and documentation, signing off on the Permanent Solution Statement or RAM Completion Statement to confirm regulatory compliance.
Site Restoration: Backfill excavation with clean fill, restore site grading, and provide client with a final report detailing soil management outcomes.
